We recently came across the Instagram account of Laura Kasperzak, who has been posting photos of herself in various yoga asanas – with her beautiful daughter! It’s a fun series of photos, and gets us motivated to get out there and practice, especially if we have a little one around to accompany us!

Have you ever wondered what your body looks like while doing yoga? What is really looks like deep down? One group, went down deep - to the bone - to answer that question! The Hybrid Medical Animation put together a series of X-ray images of a human body in various yoga poses, resulting in a 3D animation video. This video that shows how your skeleton moves and changes to work together with your muscles to allow you to do yoga asanas and move freely throughout your life.

A bilingual baby is learning two languages while at the same time learning to tell the difference between them. “It is possible that since learning two languages at once requires more information-processing efficiency, the infants have a chance to rise to this challenge by developing skills to cope with it,” the researchers theorised. For this study, bilingual babies were defined as having at least 25 per cent exposure to a second language and monolingual babies were defined as having at least 90 per cent exposure to a first language, namely English. So, start now, speak different languages to your baby and watch her grow! The organizing committee accepted votes on what to include in the package and they have announced what the gifts will be! Each Singaporean baby born next year, here or abroad will receive 8 items in the Jubilee Baby Gift package:
-Special Medallion -Multi-functional shawl -Baby Sling -Set of Baby Clothes -Diaper Bag -Scrapbook -Photo Frame -Baby Book These 8 items were the top choices from all the voters who participated. Organizers chose the items using the following themes: Care, Celebrate and Commemorate. The main idea behind the package is to symbolise the hopes, wishes and aspirations for the future generation of Singaporeans. Further details on these gifts and how parents will receive them will be available later in the year. See an interactive time lapse of how your body is changing during pregnancy! A new exhibit is being featured at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, USA focused completely on the pregnancy process, and how your body changes from week to week. If Chicago is a bit too far for a visit, be sure to check out the website for the exhibit, which features an interactive look at how your body changes from the first week until the last. It shows how your organs change position to accommodate your little one, along with what to expect with each new week. These are some great graphics, have a look here:
